Marketing agency for restaurants: a growth system for regulars and return visits
A restaurant's steadiest revenue comes from people who already know the food: families who return for Sunday lunch, colleagues who pick the same place for Friday dinner, couples who come back for anniversaries. A good month is one where more of the tables are filled by guests on their second, third or tenth visit, and the restaurant can name who they are.
Who buys
Restaurant diners choose with a small shortlist in mind: places they already trust, plus one new place a friend or a post suggested. Once a restaurant makes the shortlist, the decision to return depends on being remembered at the right moment, usually a weekend plan, a birthday or a visiting relative. Most restaurants collect nothing at the table, so a guest who enjoyed the meal leaves no trace, and the next time they plan an evening out, the restaurant has no way to reach them.
What a good month looks like
In a good month, the restaurant knows how many of its bookings came from returning guests, has added new names to its guest list with their consent, and has sent that list one useful message, such as a new seasonal menu or a chef's table date, rather than a stream of offers. Walk-in guests are asked, at the bill, whether they would like to hear about the next menu change. Command shows returning-guest bookings next to first visits for each outlet, so the owner can see whether the regular base is growing or quietly thinning.
The two channels that matter
- WhatsApp broadcast to an opted-in guest list. Guests who asked to hear from the restaurant read a short WhatsApp note far more readily than an email, and a reply can become a booking in the same chat.
- Google reviews and replies. Returning guests leave the most detailed reviews, and a thoughtful owner reply to each one tells a first-time searcher that the place remembers the people who come back.
The first thing we test
Our first hypothesis to test: the restaurant spends on reaching new diners while nobody records who has already eaten there, so every month starts again from strangers.

Questions about restaurants
What does a good first month look like for a restaurant?
A guest-list sign-up running at every table, the first opted-in names collected, one message sent to that list, and Command separating returning-guest bookings from first visits so the next month has a baseline.
What do you not do for restaurants?
We do not run points cards, blanket discount codes or daily offer blasts. They train regulars to wait for a deal, and they make the guest list something people leave rather than something they value.
What does Command report for a restaurant?
Bookings split into returning and first-time guests by outlet, guest-list sign-ups, replies to each message, and the bookings those replies produced, each counted the same way every week.
