Agriculture, Food Production & Agritech

Growth here is measured in buyer inquiries and repeat orders.

The three places growth usually leaks in agriculture & agritech

  1. Buyers outside the existing network cannot find the business.
  2. Inquiries arrive that do not match the grade or quantity on offer.
  3. The season is short, and a slow campaign misses it.

These are the first things we test, not findings about your business.

An agriculture marketing agency helps a farm, mill, processor or agritech business get found by buyers outside its existing network, and makes sure those buyers are the right fit for the grade, quantity and season on offer. Tessmont builds that system and reports it in Command as buyer inquiries and repeat orders, so the owner can see which effort brought which buyer.

Who is actually searching for what I grow, process or sell?

In agriculture the buyer is rarely the end consumer. It is a processor looking for a steady supply of a particular grade, an exporter filling a container, a retailer or hotel group sourcing a specialty line, or, for agro-inputs and farm machinery, a farmer or a farmer producer organization comparing options before the season.

Each of these buyers searches differently. A processor searches by product, grade and region. A farmer asks a dealer, a neighbor or a WhatsApp group first and checks online second. The first job is to name the two or three buyer types that matter for your business and write for them, not for everyone.

Why do the inquiries I get so often not match what I can supply?

When a listing or a page says little more than the product name, every buyer who uses that word gets in touch, including those who need a different grade, a smaller lot or a delivery window you cannot meet. The team then spends its time saying no.

The approach here is to put the qualifying facts where the buyer sees them before writing: grades, minimum lots, packing, the regions served and when stock is available. That usually means fewer inquiries, and the hypothesis the first review tests is whether a higher share of them become orders.

How does marketing work around a short season?

A campaign that starts when the crop is ready has started late, because many buyers settle their supply before harvest. The plan is built backwards from the dates that matter to your buyers: when they contract, when they sample, when they reorder.

That calendar decides when pages go live, when buyer lists are contacted and when paid search runs. Outside the season, the work shifts to keeping existing buyers informed so the next season opens with repeat orders already in conversation.

What would Command show me each month?

Buyer inquiries by product and region, the orders that came from them, and the cost of each qualified buyer. Repeat orders are tracked separately from first orders, because a buyer who returns each season is worth more than a one-time trade and deserves its own line in the report.

What the first ten days produce

  1. Lay your production or harvest calendar next to your buyers' contracting calendar and mark where marketing has been starting too late.
  2. Rewrite the main product listings and pages so each one states grade, minimum lot, packing, regions served and availability.
  3. Set up Command to separate buyer inquiries by product and region, and to mark each inquiry as qualified or not, so the first review has a clean baseline.

Do you work with farmer producer organizations and co-operatives?

Yes. The approach is the same, with one difference: the plan has to be agreed by a board or committee, so the first ten days include a short written summary the members can review.

Is this only for exporters and large processors?

No. A single estate, nursery or mill with a clear product and a defined set of buyers is a good fit. The question is whether more of the right buyers would change the business, not its size.

Can you help an agritech product reach farmers?

Yes, though the channels differ. Farmers tend to trust dealers, demonstrations and people they know, so the plan tests those routes alongside search and messaging, and Command reports sign-ups or orders by region.

What do you need from me to start?

Your product list with grades and lots, the regions you can serve, your season dates, and access to the phone numbers, email and listings where inquiries arrive today.
